  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter – melted (or margarine or 2 tablespoons oil)
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla


  • Whisk together in a small bowl melted butter (or margarine or oil), cocoa, and hot water.
  • Shift in powdered sugar and whisk together.
  • Add and vanilla and whisk until combined.
  • Use immediatly on your baked goods. I usually pour it over cake, which sits on a baking rack ontop of a baking sheet to let the drips fall. I also dip cookies and let them rest on the rack until the glae hardens.
  • Glaze will harden when cool.
