Cranberry Apple Bake
Ingredients
For the Topping
- ½ cup butter
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 ½ cup oatmeal quick oats of old fashioned oats
- ⅓ cup flour
- ½ cup pecans
For the Filling
- 2 cups cranberries fresh
- 3 cups apples peeled and chopped (Gala work awesomely)
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ⅓ brown sugar
Instructions
For the Filling
- Pour all the the cranberries in a 9″ x 9″ in casserole dish.
- Cover with the apples.
- Spread both the white and brown sugar as evenly as possible over the fruit.
For the Topping
- Melt butter in a large saucepan or mixing bowl.
- Add oats, brown sugar, flour and mix thoroughly.
- Add nuts (if desired).
- Spread evenly over the fruit.
- Place in a 350˚F preheated oven.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until bubbly.
- If desired, you can sprinkle a tablespoon of white sugar on top after removing it from the oven.
- Let cool for 20 minutes.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
